About CBG
The Charities Buying Group is a dedicated service operated and owned by a world class charity, Leonard Cheshire Disability offering a wide range of purchasing agreements that are designed to help all charity or not for profit organisations reduce expenditure and, by reducing cost helps these organisations make better use of their money for the benefit of the missions/objectives they were created for.
The CBG was formed in 2002 after reviewing how little support charities get in solving their purchasing issues, particularly small charities who do not have the buying power of larger organisations. By using the collective buying power of the CBG we can support all charities as we truly believe that by buying more efficiently more of their money can be used for the purpose it is intended , meeting their service objectives and more importantly helping those people who need the help most in terms of care and welfare. This is the true vision of the Charities buying Group.
Currently we have over 2,500 registered users and in excess of 30,000 buyers benefiting from our purchasing expertise, the numbers of new members grows every day
This service is available to all charities and not for profit organisationss free of charge; as we do not believe that organisations should pay for purchasing advice.
As a members are not committed to use any of our agreements, however all we ask that you maintain commercial confidentiality of the information they receive and have a willingness to participate in financial saving exercises that benefit your organisation
Irrespective of the size of your organisation you will make realistic costs savings on expenditure, hundreds of organisations are already enjoying reduced costs., what else can we say!!
All profits made by CBG go back to Leonard Cheshire Disability under Gift Aid, no shareholders, no commercial profits etc. therefore clearly we operate on a not for profit basis.
Suppliers who have a true commitment are welcomed as potential suppliers; however they must be able to demonstrate price, quality, after-sales service and a pro-active approach to working with the CBG and a clear degree of social and corporate responsinility, whilst the CBG recognises suppliers must make a profit, a social awareness must be recognised.
